There has been a rash comic books coming to the theaters. Now I am a comic book kinda guy. Well, like I said kinda. In fact I dont buy books as much. Now I know you comic book heads out there are just losing your mind. You just knocked over your third red bull onto the floor. I dont buy books like that. I grew up buying books. I dont collect anymore but I do spend a little time reading. My favorite comic book shop closed a few months ago. Midnight Comics on Highway 6 was the truth! But alas. I was making a run to the store and saw the owners cleaning up the place. I was shocked and stunned for about 5 minutes.
Ya see, that is the reality of life today. The economy isnt funny at all. Everybody is feeling it. So now, I just hit half price books and do my thing. Last books I recently read where the Old Man Logan and the Ghost Rider "Heaven's on Fire" series. So I dont keep up with books like some of yall but I do like to read. The coolest part about Half Price Books is that they will sell you a stack of books in a bag for 5 bucks.
Today, I hit the store in Pearland (which is becoming my favorite real quick like that), and bought a bag. Now, in these bags you get sometimes a lot of junk. Not today though, today it was 26 books and all of them were Wolverine. Yep, in fact Wolverine #127-134 136-139, 142, 145, and #75-79, 81-86 and X-MEN deluxe editions of Wolverine 87-91, 98-99. My little brother used to collect X-Men but you know a X-Men habit can be very expensive. So Im doing my diddy dance and reading books on my favorite X-Man. But I digress.
The Wolverine movie was okay. I like Hugh Jackman. Dude is real. But the story, eh. Could have been better. Now for you old school heads, If I had to do a movie on Wolverine, I would chosen Japan. Look it up, new jacks. That just would have been cool.
Thor. Umm, it was good for what it was. I just think it could have been better. Im not hating though.
Green Lantern. Nice! Good story and definitely looking forward to the sequel.
Captain America. I liked it. (in my fourth grade voice) Now bring on the Avengers movie already.
Now this wouldnt be a blog, unless I put my two cents in.
Comics that I would like to see as a movie.
Black Panther, without question and honestly you cannot do an Avengers movie without the King of Wakanda.
Daredevil. Yeah, I would like to see that done over. Just my opinion.
Storm. You can never get enough of Halle Berry. lol But seriously though the story with her and Black Panther is good and I think could carry a movie.
Dr Strange. Yes that would be awesome.
Hulk. Can somebody do a Hulk movie right? Bring in Red Hulk if you need but come on.
Those are just a few. I know none of those are probably going to be made but hey, I can dream. A boondocks movie would be gangsta though. lol
